Arriving at any great place when you travel is great. But for a surfer, life is even sweeter when the arrival coincides with arrival of a good-sized swell and epic waves. It doesn’t happen all that often for the non pro-surfer, but this time the stars aligned and I was blessed with 4 days of consistent, powerful and really cold surf (we are talking thick wetsuits, booties and ice-cream headaches).
Santa Cruz threw everything it got at me and one of my best buddy for the entire time of my stay. I gave it my all and surfed twice the first two days and pushed as hard as my old body allowed the following two days. Pleasure Point, Sewers and Four Mile were simply EPIC and by the end of my stay I was so surfed out I could hardly talk in straight sentences anymore.
