What $10 gets you in Laos

Laos is a great backpacking place. It’s easy to travel, has an amazing culture, plenty of adventures and people are very friendly. On top of that Laos is very affordable.

Here’s a picture of my veranda in a tiny village along at the mighty Mekong river. I spent $7 for the entire bungalow per night and could even split the costs by two.

The remaining $6.50 where enough for breakfast, dinner and a rental bike to explore the surrounding rice paddies and beaches all day long.

Another great day on the road for the price of a downtown lunch back home.

What great deal did you get last time you where on the road?

    Hi Marco,

Thanks for this, wobdered do you have a website for this bungalow?

      Aloha Paddy,

Unfortunately there isn’t a website for this place in the 1,000 islands in Laos. In fact there isn’t even internet on this island…it’s more like biking through rice paddies and watching the mighty Mekong river flow by while you’re reading a good book in your hammock.

Basically you show up and check out each place on the island, since there only about 5 places to stay you’ll find this one quickly enough.

      Have fun,
