Photo of the Week: Beautiful Girl in front of the Empty Taj Mahal

Seeing the Taj Mahal was always high on my travel list, but I had no idea how much of a sacrifice I had to make to actually see one of the worlds most breathtaking monuments. The evening I arrived in the city of Agra, just like a tease, I got a glimpse of the Taj Mahal at sunset from one of the rooftop terraces close by. But right after I returned to my room right next to the eastern entrance gate of the Taj Mahal (we’re talking 50 meters here) I finally paid the price for my radical ‘I-have-to-eat-anything’ eating habits and the infamous “Delhi Belly” struck me with full force. It took me four days and a heavy dose of antibiotics to finally make it out of my hostel room and to the entry gate before sunrise to snap this picture of the majestic and empty Taj Mahal.

How high a sacrifice would you make to see the Taj Mahal?
