My name is Marco Morawec. I set out to explore the world in 2001. Since then I've been a successful 4-times expat, traveler to over 30 countries and EU sponsored exchange student. I explored Europe in a camper-van, taught English from a straw thatched African hut and surfed waves in Israel. Read more...
I didn’t find anything that nice for that cheap while I was in Indo. I need to check this place out. Where exactly is it? Send me the info on Twitter if you can. 🙂 Thanks!
Aloha Christy! Yup, it was a bit of a walk finding this place. It is a straight paddle out to the Shipwrecks wave and one of the very last hostels in the North of the island. It’s called WAHYU and is right behind the hostel that is mentioned in the Lonely Planet (same price, at the beach, but no pool). Have fun and enjoy their awesome breakfast Muesli – the best thing after a good surf session!
cool! i’ve always thought it was pretty expensive in Indonesia (as compared to Thailand or Vietnam or the Philippines). one question, though: what other interesting stuff can i do in that area? and how is the beach? i’m no surfer, but i love the beach. 🙂
Aloha Kriska and big thanks for your comment. This picture was taken on Nusa Lembogan, a tiny island next to Bali, and besides exploring the many different beaches for sunset drinks and renting a mountain bike ($2/day) to explore all the little villages up in the hills, you can also organize a snorkel trip with a local fisherman and swim with the manta rays. Does that sound like a cool adventure?
Cheers,
Marco
